Care for men

For a lot of men, the first sign of heart disease is the heart attack.
You do not have to find out that way.

We image your arteries and measure your metabolism, your hormones and your aerobic capacity — then a physician sits down and tells you plainly which of your numbers to fix first. Most of the testing happens in a single day.

Motion-capture movement testing at Paradigm Health
Why men call

You do not need a symptom to need a number.

“I feel fine. I just have not been checked in years.”Good. A clean baseline is worth more than a worried one.
“My energy is down, my sex drive is down, and I am told that is just being forty.”All three are measurable. Usually there is a cause, and usually it is not the one you expect.
“I train hard and my body is not changing.”Body composition says why. A scale does not.
“My father had a heart attack at fifty-eight.”Then we look at your actual arteries, not a risk calculator.
“I snore and I wake up tired.”Sleep apnea is common, serious, treatable — and usually never diagnosed.
“I want to still be strong at seventy.”Most of that gets built in this decade. Some can still be built later, and we will tell you honestly which.
What we actually look at

The eight numbers that matter most for men’s health

The annual memberships include this testing across your first year; Life Plan is the one-time assessment on its own. A standard physical checks a fraction of it.

ArteriesCoronary calcium, ApoB, Lp(a), hs-CRP

A CT calcium score shows the plaque that has already hardened; the blood markers show what is driving it. We also tell you what a zero score does and does not mean — under about forty-five, soft plaque has not calcified yet, so a zero is a good sign and not an all-clear.

Blood pressureMeasured at home, over a week

One reading in a clinic is among the least reliable numbers in medicine. A week of home readings is what actually tracks with stroke and kidney damage — and it is the cheapest thing on this page to fix.

TestosteroneTotal, free, SHBG, estradiol

Measured properly — morning, repeated, with the markers that make the number mean something. See below for the honest version.

MetabolismFasting insulin, HOMA-IR, A1c, glucose monitor

Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR identify insulin resistance, often years before blood sugar moves. Two weeks on a glucose monitor then shows which of your own meals is driving it.

Body compositionDEXA — muscle and visceral fat

Where the fat sits matters more than what you weigh. Visceral fat is the dangerous kind, and a scale cannot see it.

FitnessVO₂ max on a CPET, grip and leg power

Aerobic capacity is among the strongest predictors of how long you live. It is also one of the most improvable things on this list, which is why we measure it, train it, and measure it again.

SleepA real sleep study

Untreated apnea drives blood pressure, heart rhythm and mood — and weight makes it worse, which makes everything else worse. It is one of the most commonly missed diagnoses in men.

ScreeningArranged, booked, chased

PSA tracked against your own baseline and family history, as a shared decision rather than a reflex — plus colon and skin. Paradigm does not perform colonoscopies; with Life Team we arrange them and coordinate with the specialists who do.

Straight talk

Testosterone testing and treatment, without the sales pitch

There is an industry built on selling men hormones after a single blood test and a questionnaire. That is not medicine.

What “properly” means here: two morning draws on separate days, total and free testosterone, with SHBG, LH, FSH, estradiol, prolactin and ferritin alongside — before anyone uses the word low.

Then we look for the cause. Sleep apnea, alcohol, visceral fat, thyroid, medication and stress all produce this picture, and most of them are fixable. Often the recommendation is not testosterone, and you get our reasoning in writing either way.

Testosterone is a prescription medicine. If we do prescribe it, you get a physician managing and monitoring it, and the trade-offs up front — including what it does to your fertility and your red blood cell count, and that coming off it is not simple.

Evidence, not hype. If you do not need it, we will say so.

Strength and performance training at Paradigm Health
By decade

What we focus on, and when

30sThe baseline

Measure it while it is good. Lp(a) is genetic and once in a lifetime. Build the muscle and aerobic base now — far cheaper than rebuilding it at fifty.

40sThe risk decade

Blood pressure, insulin and plaque all start moving quietly. This is when imaging the arteries changes decisions, and when sleep and hormones are worth a serious look.

50sAct on what you found

Prostate and colon screening coordinated. Cardiac risk treated properly rather than watched. Strength training stops being optional.

60s and beyondStay capable

Muscle, balance, aerobic capacity and brain, with hearing tested and a cognitive baseline taken while it is good. The target is being able to do what you want, not just more years.

Your physicians

You are not buying a program. You are hiring these doctors.

Founded by physicians from Vanderbilt and Harvard, with 200+ peer-reviewed publications between them. At Paradigm you see them — not a rotating cast and not a nurse line.
